Bayside Power Poll: Week 2

September 11, 2017

Some things were sorted out on Friday including an injury that completely changes the landscape for the Bayside Conference. That said after Queen Anne’s at 3 there are so many questions and things up in the air. Cambridge was not dropped because of their schedule. We will learn a lot with Easton at Parkside but with the injuries the Warriors sustained and their length I think they will likely drop. The injuries are the only reason at this point I did not drop Parkside down plus they played the #1 team. Decatur showed they were not as good as their Week #1 win which I thought was the case but they also at least defensively played solidly against Wicomico. I realize Kent County had some reasons why they lost to Washington but I think possibly I graded them a little higher than where they should be although their offense did score 31 points against Washington which I did expect to happen but nonetheless I expected a win.

1...North Caroline (2-0)-The Bulldogs gave Head Coach James McCormick his 100th career win with a 49-6 blowout of what was supposed to be a very good Parkside team out of the South. RB David Bailey had 4TDs and 166 yards on the ground.

Next Game: Friday at Cambridge-SD

2...Kent Island (2-0)-The Bucs shutout JM Bennett on the road 47-13. They led 47-0 at halftime. Next Game: Friday vs. Kent County

4...Parkside (1-1)-The Rams were blown out on the road by North Caroline 49-6 in what was supposed to be a statement game for a team with big expectations out of the South.

Next Week: Friday vs. Easton

5...Easton (1-1)-The Warriors fell to Queen Anne’s 27-13 and they also lost QB Mason Ledford, RB Connor Butler and WR Ryan Farr to injuries in the game. They did however hang in the game.

6...Cambridge (0-2)-The Vikings fell to Woodbridge out of Delaware Henlopen’s Conference 37-13. Cambridge’s defense gave up over 400 yards of offense and the Vikings were intercepted three times.
