2018 BAYSIDE CONFERENCE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL POWER POLL AFTER WEEK 5


 

 

Explaining the Poll: Parkside deserved the bump over JM Bennett with their consecutive wins over North teams, Easton and Parkside. They also lost a tough one in the rain to Caroline on the road. Bennett defeated Snow Hill on Saturday. The Rams have played a slightly tougher schedule. Bennett will get their chance to make a statement taking on Parkside this Friday. Kent Island who couldn’t stop the run or run the football lost on the road by 5 and came close to winning it at the very end. Kent Island defeated Bennett head to head.  


1...North Caroline (5-0)-The Bulldogs blew out Stephen Decatur on the road 42-0. JB Brown had multiple touchdowns in the win.

 

Next Game: Friday vs. Easton-6:30pm


2...Parkside (4-1)-The Rams defeated Kent Island 21-16, it was their first win over the Bucs since 2006. The Rams defense held the Bucs under a yard per carry.

 

Next Game: Friday vs. JM Bennett-630pm


 

 

3...Kent Island (4-1)-The Bucs fell on the road to Parkside 21-16. The Bucs ran for just 35 yards and gave up nearly 300 yards on the ground.

 

Next Game: Thursday at Wicomico-6:30pm 



 

4…JM Bennett (4-1)-The Clippers defeated Snow Hill 36-6. Bennett pulled the starters midway through the 2nd quarter.

 

Next Game: Friday vs. Parkside-6:30pm   


5...Cambridge-SD (3-2)-The Vikings went on the road to Nandua and won 64-21. RB Khalik Beasley rushed for 289 yards and 4 TDs. 

 

Next Game: Friday vs. Washington-6:30pm    

 
6...Queen Anne’s (2-3)-The Lions defeated Kent County on the road 35-6. The Lions racked up 304 yards on the ground led by Hassan Biggus who had 115 yards and a 1TD.

 

Next Game: Friday at Stephen Decatur-6pm


7...Easton (2-3)-The Warriors ended a 3 game losing streak and defeated winless Southern-AA 41-0. QB Ryan O’Connor had 4TD passes and 330 yards passing.

 

Next Game: Friday at North Caroline-6:30pm  



 

8...Wicomico (3-2)-The Indians were scoreless with Washington in the 1st quarter but went on to win    58-0.

 

Next Game: Thursday vs. Kent Island-6:30pm   



 

9...Stephen Decatur (2-3)-The Seahawks were shutout at home by North Caroline 42-0.

 

Next Game: Friday vs. Queen Anne’s-6pm


10...Colonel Richardson (2-3)-The Colonels defeated Arcadia (VA) 68-31 and set a school record for most points scored in team history. Jordan Gabriel had 174 yards rushing and 3 TDs.

11...Kent County (2-3)-The Trojans fell at home to Queen Anne’s 35-6. Tre Wright had the lone score, a 4 yard rush. Next Game: Friday vs. Colonel Richardson-6:30pm



 

12...Washington (0-5)-The Jaguars were shutout by Wicomico 58-0. The game was scoreless in the 1st quarter.

 

Next Game: Friday at Cambridge-SD-6:30pm


13...Snow Hill (0-5)-The Eagles fell on the road to JM Bennett 36-6. The Eagles did score for the first time this season on an Anthony Snyder TD pass. Next Game: Friday vs. Nandua (VA)-6pm
