#10 Stephen Decatur (2-5) at #3 Parkside (5-2)-630pm-The Rams have played just as tough if not a tougher schedule than Decatur. The Rams can match their size in the trenches. Decatur has issues scoring and Parkside’s defense is much improved. Decatur has had a rough go of it this year for whatever reason even though they have some size and talented backs. The Rams certainly have enough fire power if this somehow became a shootout. Except a heavy ground game from both teams but Rams should win this at home with fair certainty.
#2 JM Bennett (6-1) at #1 North Caroline (7-0)-7pm-The Bulldogs are helped by the fact that they faced a similar style offensive spread attack in Easton a few weeks ago and held that offense to 3 points. They cannot go man to man though in any consistent fashion. The Bulldogs may have to throw a little bit tonight to open things up like they did against Kent County last week and they have to be more effective when they do. Bennett can no doubt throw the football and get the ball into the hands of their play makers. That said they will have to be careful with their protection against an aggressive Caroline defense. They will also need to run the football with some success to keep the defense honest for the passing game. They also want to keep their defense fresh. The Clippers did well in shutting down Parkside’s run game but they were ineffective stopping Queen Anne’s last week. This ought to be a really good game and all three phases will be key tonight in the game. I believe Caroline will be able to establish the run and their defensive line should be able to get enough pressure on Bennett’s QB to limit the pass attack that I think they win this one at home. No one will be surprised though if the Clippers win and if it gets to be a shootout they likely will because they are more balanced offensively.
