Bayside Picks: Week 8 (part 2)

October 20, 2018

#5 Kent Island (4-3) at #8 Easton (3-4)-6:30pm-The Buccaneers are due for a win after three straight losses. Easton’s passing game will be a challenge for the Kent Island defense however it would serve the Warriors well to establish some sort of run game. Easton’s defense has worn down in the second half but is playing better including tackling better. I see the Bucs bouncing back under Head Coach Damien Ferragamo with still an outside chance at making the playoffs. It’s a must win for them.

#11 Kent County (2-5) at #6 Cambridge-SD (4-3)-6:30pm-The Vikings will likely face a stacked box and will have to get to the edges to run the ball successfully. QB Jacquan Farrare should be able to throw enough as well to make some plays against the Trojan defense. The Vikings defense while young is working on getting better each week and should be able to keep KC’s offense in check.

#9 Colonel Richardson (4-3) at Northampton, VA (5-1)-7pm-The Colonels have been impressive despite some big injuries including to their QB in winning and overcoming very small numbers. Colonel is taking a very long trip in this one. Northampton is 5-1 but their wins have come against teams with losings records and their one loss came to a 5-1 team. I will lean Colonels knowing how big this game is and having played better competition.

#4 Wicomico (5-2) at #7 Queen Anne’s (3-4)-7pm-My gut tells me Queen Anne’s will pull off the upset, but I will go against my gut and go with the Indians, but they still have something to prove. They did beat Kent Island soundly at home, but they have also lost North Caroline and Parkside. They could use another couple of quality wins. The Indians are playing very well having won three in a row and certainly have more speed and athleticism. Their defense will have to come to play tonight against an improving offense. They should be able to score some points against Queen Anne’s and hold on to win. I expect a close one.

#13 Snow Hill (0-7) at #12 Washington (0-7)-6:30pm-One team has to get their first win of the season. Snow Hill got their first win over 2 years last year in this game. The Jags have scored about 30 more points than Snow Hill but given up more points. The Jags have played some common opponents better than Snow Hill. I like the Jags to pull this one out at home with more talent and numbers.
