Bayside Power Poll: After Week 8

October 23, 2018

Explaining the Poll: North Caroline remains the lone undefeated team. Ranking teams 4-8 is extremely difficult. There is no doubt though Queen Anne’s is back on the rise. Kent Island continues to flounder although to be fair they lost but just a TD on the road as they were down to their 4th string QB. Yes, I have Queen Anne’s one spot above Cambridge despite their loss to the Vikings Week 1 which was a one-point loss. The reasons being the Lions convincing win over Wicomico who handily defeated Cambridge) and their near win at JM Bennett two weeks ago. The Lions handled Kent County 35-6 where the Vikings edged out a 15-6 win. It was a tough call keeping Wicomico above Queen Anne’s, but they do have one more win and the game was on the road and tied at halftime. I still believe the Indians to be good.

1...North Caroline (8-0)-The Bulldogs defeated JM Bennett at home 40-14. They led 20-7 at the half.

Next Game: Friday at Kent Island-7pm

2...JM Bennett (6-2)-The Clippers fell on the road to North Caroline 40-14. Bennett marched right down the field and scored on their first possession. However, turnovers, a blocked punt and FG and turnover on downs inside their own territory led to the loss.

Next Game: Friday at Stephen Decatur-6pm

3...Parkside (6-2)-The Rams shutout out Stephen Decatur at home 28-0. Three different players had a TD and there was a pick 6 in the contest.

T6...Easton (4-4)-The Warriors defeated Kent Island 14-7 defeating the Bucs for the first time since 2006.  Taj Nixon had 3 interceptions, all I the second half in the win. A Thatcher Knox 12-yard TD run was the difference in the game.

Next Game: Friday at Wicomico-6:30pm
