#12 Washington (1-8) at #3 Parkside (7-2)-6:30pm-The Rams by far are the superior team by the numbers and talent wise. They should have no problem in winning this game. This is also a must win for Parkside to make the playoffs, they will be plenty focused and motivated.
#1 North Caroline (9-0) at #9 Colonel Richardson (5-4)-5pm-The Superintendent’s Cup is being retired tonight but that is a whole different story. While Colonel has turned their program around and brought consistency the last 3-4 years, North Caroline has built themselves into a perennial power. The Bulldogs may not be as good as last year’s team but you wouldn’t know it by the record. They are still the stronger and better team with plenty more depth. An undefeated season and a rival will keep them plenty motivated.
#13 Snow Hill (0-9) at #10 Stephen Decatur (2-7)-6pm-In the Battle of Worcester County the Seahawks should win their first game since early September in what has been another disappointing season for Decatur. The Eagles have low numbers and have barely scored this year. Decatur should be able to get a lot of guys in the game on Senior night.
#4 Wicomico (6-3) at #2 JM Bennett (7-2)-6:30pm-The weather again could very well play a factor in this one in this rivalry game in the battle of Salisbury. There is a lot on the line, not only bragging rights but if Wicomico wins they have a chance at making the playoffs. Bennett wants to hang onto the #2 seed in the 3A East and host at least one playoff game. By the numbers Wicomico has a stronger defense. I do worry about Bennett’s defense after giving up 30+ points to Queen Anne’s and North Caroline in succession. Wicomico is capable of putting up that many points. If the Indians are at their best they certainly could win this but this seems to be a Bennett team that does what it needs to do to win, has the advantage on special teams and can likely win a shootout if need, I go Clippers but not by much.
#6 Easton (4-5) at #6 Cambridge-SD (6-3)-6:30pm-Another rivalry game pitting Talbot versus Dorchester County. The rain may very well play a factor in this one. The Vikings have playoff seeding on the line and are playing at home. In dry conditions I would favor the Warriors with their passing attack. However looking at the forecast I have to go with the Vikings. I still think this game will be close as the rain could slow down Cambridge’s running attack and Easton’s defense is playing a lot better late in the year.
#5 Queen Anne’s (4-5) at #8 Kent Island (4-5)-7pm-This is the first time in a long time that this game has no playoff implications on the line just bragging rights in the War on the Shore and the Chesapeake Cup. Both teams have had a rough year but Queen Anne’s has turned around their season and is playing much better ball while Kent Island has lost 5 straight and is limping into the game. It’s still a rivalry game but the Lions ought to be able to win this one even though its on the road.
#11 Kent County (2-7) at Patterson Mill (0-8)-7pm-The Trojans have a few more wins and have played teams like Kent Island and Concordia Prep (last week) tough. They ought to be able to come out of this one with a win.
Last Week: 7-0
