The Randallstown Lady Rams defeated the Pikesville Panthers 53-44 Wednesday night. Both teams struggled to maintain a lead throughout most of the first quarter, but a three ball at the buzzer by Rams Forward Lindsay Bradford put Randallstown up by one and they never looked back. Bradford was hobbled by a sprained ankle but played all of the game except the third quarter.
"Defense and offense we've got to play aggressive." said Bradford. "We want to make it all the way to the states.... (and) just do what we have to do to make it there."
Taylor Burgess forced several early turnovers and played extremely aggressive in the first half. Burgess, though, picked up a handful of fouls for her tenacity and fouled out of the game early in the second half. This forced Rams head coach Mike Thompson to go to the bench.
"Tiffany Davis came in and gave us some good valuable minutes in the thrid and fourth quarter." Said Thompson. "Overall I think the girls did a wonderful job of stepping up the plate and getting the job done."
Pikesville was lead on both ends of the court by point guard Terri Boyd. At 5'0 Boyd, plays fast and extremely aggressive in the paint and under the boards. Head Coach David Clough also saw great play from Ronje James, Ally Weiner, and Brandee Tyler.
The Panthers must rebound quickly as they play host to Loch Raven Friday night. The Lady Rams will look for their fourth win in a row when they travel to Western Tech & Enviromental Science Friday night.
